From the middle of the 16th century, table clocks have increasingly adopted an architectural shape – combined with artistic decoration. This can also be seen on the present tower-shaped clock – which shows significant architectural and iconographic influence.
This clock was a significant challenge for the restorer. The piece had partly irreversible damage to the metallic substance. The task was to remove the damaging substances from the piece and conserve and document it for the art world.
